Daddy is a Bully Boy
Daddy is a Bully Boy is inspired by an original piano composition by my daughter, Seela, complete with cheeky lyrics mocking me. This animation blends reflection, nostalgia and whimsy, exploring my occasional irritations towards my family while celebrating visual creativity and freedom. Influenced by Paul and Linda McCartney's song Monkberry Moon Delight, I aimed to create something less structured and freer than my recent projects.
Primarily a traditional 2D animation, Daddy is a Bully Boy also incorporates personal family videos and audio recordings to add a genuine, relatable touch, making it feel more real and personal. The flip book-style animations were created on paper using black markers and felt-tip pens. Adobe Photoshop was used for basic image enhancements, and Adobe Premiere for final editing. Some footage was re-shot using my smartphone to mimic the raw, grainy quality of old home movies from decades ago. I cherish human error in creative work, and one of my main goals was to create a timeless, old-school animation that is visually diverse and engaging. Directed by: David John Graham |

Human-Faced Cockroach
The film is set in the remote and desolate countryside of Northwest China, where the protagonist broke the legs of a strange, human-faced cockroach and tried to kill it , but the cockroach is picked up by the student passing by and revered as a new god of the village, and the protagonist is captured by the new god's followers to serve as a sacrifice for all their desires. The main idea of the story is to express that the backward and feudalistic crowd is always more easily incited, more lilkely to judge others and sacrifice them for an absurd reason in an attempt to obtain some ilusory blessings, and in the end, the illusions of their desires are just like showy but ephemeral alters, which will eventually collapse and vanish into thin air , like smoke in the fire.
